Around 8 million people move every year alone in Germany: But how do you actually find out what the new neighborhood is like?
Supermarkets, doctor’s offices, bars, events, attractions – yes, and simply the people: Many factors decide how high the quality of life is in a neighborhood. Most of the time, you only get to know the advantages and disadvantages over time. In the worst case, you then decide to move away again, because the expectations may not have been met after all, and you simply feel uncomfortable as a result.

The portal (and startup) gutewohngegend.de provides relief and a solid basis for moving decisions. The „TripAdvisor“ for neighborhoods wants to convey „local knowledge“ and bring neighborhoods along with the experiences of residents to a platform. People who move to a city they don’t know yet benefit the most from this.
What is the business model?
The startup initially strives to build a comprehensive database and win people who want to share their knowledge about their neighborhood with others on the platform. Through advertisements and targeted placement of offers from the specific residential area, the team finally plans to establish the company on a sustainable basis.
The prototype is ready, now the business model is being refined.
The monetization of the business idea is happening in line with the increasing user data and played content. This is a bootstrapping process that currently still requires a lot of patience and personal commitment from the founders.
The second challenge is the marketing strategy. Nationwide distribution is currently still too costly. For the urgently needed campaign, the team is working on creative and alternative concepts for the start.
