A comprehensive digital solution for all connoisseurs - Destill-IT

Whisky, Gin & Co: The distillation of spirits is a refined craft – with some documentary exceptions.

Focus on what you love, we’ll take care of the rest – This motto applies to many digitization approaches, also on Destill-It. However, it suits hardly any other craft as well as it does the distillation of fine spirits and brands.

The production of high-percentage alcohol is subject to strict documentary requirements, which are mostly fulfilled manually by the distilleries. Few distilleries are already using digital solutions, which are mostly individually set up and constantly adapted. In particular, with regard to the prescribed customs documentation, this is an extensive task.

An innovation from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern provides relief.

Digital solution that relieves: The interface of Destill-IT.

The Greifswald StartUp Destill-IT – Control and customs documentation can now be conveniently carried out on a digital platform.

From the mash to the finished product: it’s only at second glance that one realizes many distilleries have developed highly individualized processes to offer their unique and refined product variety. In addition, the high quality of the products is not only a regulatory requirement, but the decisive factor for a safe and, above all, healthy enjoyment.

A digital solution must therefore necessarily also include quality and regulatory aspects as central control elements. The goal must be to not only promote impeccable quality and customs documentation with a digital solution, but to fully document it in a documentary manner – even with highly individual structures in the distillery.

Developed together with distilleries and distilleries.

Therefore, the central goal was and is to create relief for documentation, control and administration with the developed solution. To this end, the first customers were won early on, who already used the software solution in an early stage and evaluated it extensively.

For this reason as well, all processes in the distillery can be fully digitally mapped. The user-friendly interface can also be easily adapted to changes (such as new products or production chains).

The necessary documentation (especially for quality management and customs) is then handled by the digital companion almost incidentally – the customers have to log their production in a digital interface instead of on paper, conveniently for example via tablet. Additionally, it is optional to either digitally map the entire production or selected parts.

The Business Model

The tiered, affordable subscription model of Destill-IT is based on the amount of alcohol produced annually and starts at 49€ per month. All customers thus have access to the full range of functions and the flexibility to map all processes individually at any time. Additionally, future new requirements (e.g. regulatory requirements) are continuously integrated. Destill-IT is therefore a highly effective alternative to analog documentation and offers significant advantages over individual software solutions.

Gründers Anmerkung

The first six distilleries are already satisfied users of our product as lead customers. With enthusiasm, we have improved the product together with them and designed it in such a way that it noticeably simplifies the work for all distilleries. Moreover, it’s simply fun to display current processes of your own distillery from anywhere using a device.

For the next few months, we will implement a sales light approach. We would like to initially acquire a total of ten lead customers who strive for intensive collaboration. After that, sales will be expanded.

The startup is also working on a financing round to implement additional, desired features of the software.

Further synergistic impulses for the positive growth of our federal state in the area of StartUps. And of course a reduction of bureaucracy at the political level.
