Simple, certified and flexible: The software solution from arztkonsultation sets standards in the digital health sector. We provide an update together with founder Jan Zeggel.
Since 2014, the Schwerin telemedicine start-up has been working on its leading products nationwide. To this end, the 25-member team develops its own telemedicine technology based on video consultations or creates new, mostly hybrid patient pathways with partners.
The startup is thus partly a classic SaaS provider, as well as an implementation boutique for individual telemedicine solutions.
On the way to number one.
More than 1.6 million video consultations have already been conducted through us. Numerous university clinics and major healthcare providers are customers. Nevertheless, telemedicine is still in its infancy; the enormous potential is still being used far too rarely. However, the Digital Health Act of the Ministry of Health will bring enormous momentum to the entire industry.
The Digital Law of the Ministry of Health
The Digital Act aims to simplify medical everyday life for doctors and patients through digital solutions. It introduces the electronic patient record (ePA) as a central component to promote the exchange and use of health data and to support care in a targeted manner. In addition, the E-prescription is introduced as a binding standard.

Focus on the essentials.
The startup is firmly convinced that the future of healthcare lies in a hybrid approach that combines on-site treatment with digital solutions. Therefore, a strong focus is placed on meaningfully linking the different sectors together. The main focus is on the B2B business, emphasizing that telemedical services must create added value for the service provider in order to achieve a successful digital transformation of the German healthcare system.

The origins of arztkonsultation date back to 2014. Since 2017, we have been a quasi-family business through the takeover by my father, Dr. Peter Zeggel. At the beginning of 2024, I took over the sole management of the company.

Question 1: What is going particularly well from your point of view in the start-up scene in MV?
The passion to want to achieve something for the federal state and the partly very collegiate atmosphere among the founders.

My vision for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is to create an ecosystem that promotes innovation, supports sustainable growth, and contributes to the social and economic development of the region. In doing so, the balance between economic success and responsibility towards the environment and society is at the forefront.
