COLDPLASMATECH GmbH - The cure for chronic wounds

We dedicate ourselves to the treatment of chronic wounds in a significantly different way.

Chronic wounds often heal slowly - but with ColdPlasmaTech's cold plasma therapy, it's faster and easier. The innovative treatment accelerates wound healing by 214%, reduces the use of antibiotics, and relieves pain - all in just two minutes per application. The therapy is safe, gentle, and can be easily performed by medical personnel.

Treatment with ColdPlasmaTech solution

How does the solution work?

ColdPlasmaTech is based on the application of cold-generated plasma - a partially ionized gas that works at nearly room temperature. The technology utilizes the unique properties of this plasma to achieve various effects:

  • Generation of reactive species: By applying a high voltage to a gas (often Argon, Helium, or air), a plasma is created, releasing electrons, ions, UV radiation, as well as reactive oxygen (ROS) and nitrogen species (RNS).
  • Antimicrobial effect: These reactive species attack microorganisms by oxidizing their cell membranes, proteins, and DNA, causing structural damage, ultimately leading to the inactivation or killing of the pathogens.
  • Surface modification: In addition to antimicrobial disinfection, the plasma can also activate or modify surfaces, which is utilized in industrial applications to improve adhesion or cleaning.
  • Non-thermal process: Since the process heat is low, temperature-sensitive materials and even living tissue can be treated gently - an important advantage, particularly in medical applications such as wound treatment or sterilization.
Treatment of a chronic wound on the foot

ColdPlasmaTech offers several decisive advantages over conventional solutions:

  • Temperature independence: Since the technology operates at nearly room temperature, heat-sensitive materials and living tissues are treated gently – a decisive advantage over thermal processes that can often cause damage or material degradation.

  • High antimicrobial effectiveness: The production of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species leads to effective inactivation of bacteria, viruses, and fungi, which is particularly beneficial in the disinfection and sterilization of surfaces as well as in wound treatment.

  • Environmental friendliness: In contrast to chemical disinfectants, which often leave residues and can cause environmental pollution, ColdPlasmaTech works without the use of harmful chemicals – this reduces the risk of side effects and environmental damage.

  • Versatility and precision: In addition to its antimicrobial effect, the technology also enables targeted surface modifications. This allows it to be used flexibly and precisely in various fields of application (e.g., medicine, food processing, materials science).

  • Energy efficiency: The process often requires less energy compared to conventional thermal sterilization methods, which is both economically and ecologically beneficial.

ColdPlasmaTech has established itself as an innovative startup in the MedTech and industrial sector and achieved a series of impressive successes:

  • Awards and prizes: The company has already been awarded renowned innovation prizes, recognizing the technical brilliance and disruptive potential of Cold Plasma technology.
  • Patents and research successes: Several granted patents and successful research collaborations underpin the technological leadership position and secure a long-term competitive advantage.
  • Successful pilot projects: Collaborations with leading medical institutions and industrial partners have validated the practical application of the technology and led to positive, measurable results.
  • Strong market presence: Positive feedback from expert circles and media, as well as strategic partnerships, underscore the industry's trust in ColdPlasmaTech's innovations.

These successes demonstrate how the startup is revolutionizing traditional procedures and setting sustainable impulses for the future.

Despite high technical innovation, the patient is in the foreground.

Behind the revolutionary cold plasma therapy of Coldplasmatech is an interdisciplinary team of leading scientists, doctors and engineers. With a deep passion for innovation and patient health, we are working to fundamentally improve wound care.

Our experts, including Prof. Dr. med. Markus Stücker, President of the German Society of Phlebology, and Dr. Nessr Abu Rached, a specialist in dermatology, bring extensive clinical experience. Together with a dedicated research team, they are developing groundbreaking technologies that have been scientifically confirmed in renowned studies such as the POWER-Studie.

With the support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and close collaboration with leading clinics, we are setting new standards in modern wound care. Our goal: an effective, pain-free and everyday therapy for patients worldwide.
